Many micro and nano-fluidic applications require smooth, non-pulsatile and stable flow inside microfluidic biochips. This cannot be achieved by many standard syringe pumps due to the design which includes a stepper motor whereby a step (or micro-step) delivers a defined volume dependent on the syringe size connected. Cellix's novel patented ExiGo microfluidic pump can deliver precise non-pulsatile (pulse-free) flow rates in the nano to microfluidic range, even while using a standard 5mL plastic syringe.
